Root Canals

Root canal treatment is a dental procedure used to save a tooth that is badly infected or decayed. It involves removing the damaged or infected pulp (the soft tissue inside the tooth that contains nerves and blood vessels), cleaning and disinfecting the inside of the tooth, and then filling and sealing it to prevent further infection. The procedure typically ends with placing a crown or filling on the tooth to restore its strength and function. Root canal treatment helps relieve pain and preserves the natural tooth, preventing the need for extraction.
Without an X-ray, it is nearly impossible to accurately determine whether a tooth requires root canal treatment.
During crown treatment, if the tooth’s pulp becomes exposed due to the shaving process, it is necessary to perform a root canal treatment on that specific tooth.
At Pearly White Gateway, all root canal treatments are performed by specialized endodontics with extensive experience.
